“Yet hope returns
when I remember
this one thing:
The Lord’s unfailing
love and mercy
still continue,
fresh as the morning,
as sure as the sunrise.
The Lord is all I have,
so in him
I put my hope
–Lamentations 3:21-24
Hello all– My only real resolution this year is more of a reflection–to remember these words. If I wake up in the morning, remembering my hope is in God’s unfailing love and mercy, everything else will make sense.
Like the last three days. I have been painting the study a pale gray. And let’s just say it’s not going well. By the time Larry got home tonight I was pretty grumpy (and paint spattered). But if I can stop and measure that against the merciful daily love of God– paint’s not such a big deal. I’m hopeful for all he has ahead for me (even if it’s not a beautiful study). Thankful.

Happy New Year, Rhonda. Hugs.
If it’s any comfort I have banned myself from painting rooms. I’m a disaster. I’m Lucy AND Ethel all in one.
Love you much. I’m sure it will look fantastic! ❤️🦋
OK Cate– you have me laughing!! I’m joining you on the disaster list! I’ve painted all the rooms in our house, but I’m getting to creaky to go up and down that ladder! But I’m still painting…. (will this project every end??!) Hugs friend!
❤
I have been contemplating painting our spare room a shade of gray. Gray looks great in most rooms. Good luck with the job.😉
Agree! This is a really soft gray (called Roadster White– Behr–Home Depot) and looks to clean and fresh. But I’m doing a massive bookcase in there too (white) and it’s taking forever! — Sorry for the whining!– Hope you’re painting goes well and it all turns out beautifully! xox
Haha…I don’t consider painting fun either, more tedious than anything! I have a spare room that was my son’s that I want to redo. The problem is that it’s filled with all his stuff. Eventually after he picks it all up, I can get to work.
Hi Mary– I can totally relate to that! We are at the next stage– kids stuff moved into boxes in the garage! We have a small house so the silver lining when the kids moved out was gaining a study and a guest room (so they can come back home to visit!!) take care… xox
Gorgeous photo! I hope your room turned out all right – Kat
Nope– I’m am still painting! (this is the never ending project!). The room & hallway walls are done, thankfully. But there is a massive built in books case I am painting white and it has so many nooks and crannies!! (and lamentably needs a second coat of paint!). I think I’ll be done by May! — but thanks for your encouragement!! xox
Thats such a gorgeous photo Rhonda and beautiful scripture, best of luck painting the room you are very ambitious. I could not paint my rooms if I tried my ceilings are too high and I don’t do ladders.
Hey Suzanne– I’ll bet your house is gorgeous with the older architecture, high ceilings. I am deciding I’m not so good with ladders anymore either– and I’m such a paint splatter-er! This job is going on forever–walls done, but now I’m painting a huge bookcase. I have hopes of finishing sometime this year!! But thanks for your encouragement Suzanne!! hugs hugs1
Happy New Year, Rhonda!
This is a very nice post Rhonda! And, I really like the photo. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year! xoxo
You’re so dear Lily– Hope you’re having a good start up back at school! xox
With hope in His unfailing love, we can expect His presence in all that He has planned for us. We can see His grace and beauty in all things, for our good and His glory. Blessings for a new year. ~ Fran
Beautifully written Fran– thank you.
Beautiful scripture AND picture. Also, I LOVE grey 🙂
thanks dear Lacey. Yep, our house is slowly warping into gray– except our kitchen– with it’s crazy yellow cabinets. I think we’re stuck there! Happy week ahead… xox
Oh but all colors seem to pop against grey. I bet the cabinets are awesome 🙂
You’re so sweet Lacey– finished painting today- How are you doing back to work and couple weeks after the Christmas break??– hope all’s rolling along well… xo
Yeah…I hear ya! I used to love painting rooms, but lately I don’t know if it’s busyness, age, the weather, or all of he above,…I don’t really enjoy it as much as I used to. 😊
Oh gosh Daisy! Maybe it’s the ladder!! I like how the room looks now (finished today finally!), but I’m a klutz up on a ladder– splattering paint high and low. But you did a kitchen remodel not too long ago– was there painting involved?? take care.. xox
Beautiful reflection in words and photo. Congrats on finishing your painting job!
Hi Marica– I may never paint again– that took forever (and I’m so messy!). But it looks OK (now that I scraped up the paint splatters off the floor!). I’m looking forward to staying off the ladder and reading for a few days– Just finished Commonwealth by Ann Patchett-good story of a fractured family. OK, happy reading back there to you!! xox
