A Thankful November

Hi everyone–  Well, I know you’re just recovering from Halloween.  I had a grand time pumpkin carving with my  third graders in room #22 too!  But if you’re going to get a running start on being truly thankful this Thanksgiving month, now’s the time to start!

Around our house we love to put up the old “Thankful Heart Chart.”  We fill it in day by day through the month with all manner of blessings– old friends and chocolates, dancing and library books, tacos and hugs…  Most of all our faith in God, our father.  It’s a good practice for getting all that gratitude gathered up for an overflowing heart of thankfulness on the big day!  (and actually for every day.)

“give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”    Psalm 100:4-5

The picture here is last year– when Charlotte and Maryann were with us to fill up that happy chart.  This year I’m on my own.  But, of course, we have 31 charts that are going to be filling up in the 3rd grade.  That makes our room at school a more thankful place.
