Hi there friends– We had a fine food-filled weekend in San Francisco–topped with a fun (if less than victorious) footall game at the Cal Memorial Stadium Go Bears!
Saturday morning we set off to to tour the offices at Ani’s new job–housed in one or the first sky-scrappers in SF, a mix of art deco and industrial modern. Big fun to see where she spends her days. And we followed that up with colorful lunch at a Jamaican restaurant a short walk away.
Fish tacos for two, jerk chicken, and pineapple agua fresca.
Across the Bay Bridge, we made our way to Albany to settle in a Little Star Pizza. We just couldn’t decide between deep dish and thin crust, so we settled for both. It’s a bright modern spot with a front wall that opens to a charming shopping street. Loved it.
Then we trekked off across the campus to the football game. Alas, our Cal Bears got clobbered by Oregon State. But it was great fun to hang with our kids and Brian’s folks at the game and the Cal band is always to best!!
Sunday lunch was Indian take out from the new neighborhood shop. Brian’s brother and his fiance dropped in for spicy fish, perfect spinach curry, dal, tiki masala… and for fun talk about their wedding coming up in a few weeks. So happy for Ian and Alexa!!
It was a fine weekend. Thanks bunches Ani & Brian for a fabulous food and football
extravaganza.
Looks like a great weekend! Can’t wait to visit too.
I can think of LOTS of fun things to do with the girls in SF!! It would be big fun to be there with you all…
So much lovely food! and I liked how you ordered both pizzas because you couldn’t decide – I would do that too.
I’ve actually never had a deep dish pizza ever! it’s going on the bucket list.
I’d love to share a pizza with you– and all the beautiful food you post from there!
